Cronjobs for basic user accounts

I’m currently looking at installing HestiaCP and everything is very detailed and amazing so far, but one of the things I can’t figure out is about cronjobs.

Quote from the Troubleshooting page:

Q: Can I update my cronjobs via crontab -e?
A: No, you cannot. When you update HestiaCP, the crontab will simply get overwritten. The changes will not get saved in backups either.

Does this count for everything, or just user that were created with HestiaCP?
For example, if I would set a cronjob directly as root, or any other user account that was created outside of HestiaCP in a normal ssh session, would those be able to still use cronjobs the normal way?

Just for users created with Hestia. If you have any other user outside Hestia (including root), you can create the cron jobs you want for those users, Hestia won’t overwrite them.
