Hi Hestia developer team, could you please share an estimated release date for a Debian 13‑compatible version? Many users are looking forward to the update

Kind regrads

We do not have any release date, as new features are currently postponed due to missing ressources.

Isn’t worth to put out a call for mantainers? Seems that all required PRs to support Debian 13 are more or less there, but there is nobody to review and merge them.

I successfully deployed HestiaCP on an Incus Ubuntu Server 24.04 container running on an ARM machine with Debian 13. I think this is a great transitional solution.

I don’t see how installing Hestia on an Incus Ubuntu container is either a great transitional solution or related to Hestia supporting Debian 13.

What I meant is that in my situation, Debian 13 is the only host environment I have available. So running HestiaCP inside an Incus Ubuntu 24.04 container is simply my personal workaround. It may not be a direct solution for “HestiaCP on Debian 13,” but it does provide a practical way for a Debian 13 host to run HestiaCP for now.

Any updates on Debian 13 Support / upgrade? You guys are starting to scare me. I just love Hestia, I couldn’t think of using anything else. Is it still being supported? I sure hope so.

Yes, it is. Just be patient

I understand that, but:

  • There have been no meaningful contributions merged for a month now (just pointless PRs from the Renovate bot).
  • There have been no maintenance releases for security fixes (PMA, Roundcube, etc.). The last release was in July 2025, almost seven months ago.
  • There have been no official communications about the current state of the project or what is being done to address any missing resources.

I have seen many of your (very meaningful!) contributions stuck in pull requests that nobody is reviewing or merging. I think this is what is making us worry about the general state of the project and whether we should start looking for something else regarding future support and upgrades.

Thank you for sharing these concerns – they are completely valid.

At the moment, both the core developers and the project founders are heavily involved in other projects, their own companies, and private commitments. This has significantly limited the time we can currently dedicate to Hestia on a day-to-day basis.

That said, Hestia is not abandoned. As mentioned in an earlier forum post, we continue to maintain the project with a strong focus on security and stability. New features have been deliberately postponed so that the limited resources available can be used where they matter most.

We are actively working on a new release that will address outstanding security-relevant updates (such as PMA, Roundcube, and others). Our current target is Thursday or Friday, although this timeline cannot be guaranteed.

We are fully aware that several valuable pull requests – including some significant contributions – are currently waiting for review. This backlog is a direct result of the capacity issues described above, not a lack of interest or appreciation for the work being done.

If anyone is willing to support the project, whether through reviews, testing, or active development, please reach out. Any help is genuinely appreciated and would make a real difference.

Thank you for your patience, your feedback, and your continued trust in the project.

@sahsanu This person should definitely be part of the project; they make significant contributions.

I'm also waiting for Debian 13 support to replace my (old) servers.

I’ve officially stopped doing everything. No more websites, no emails, no maintenance.
I’m not even taking support calls.
I’ve also paused my entire personal life and will now sit here rotting in my office chair until Debian 13 support arrives in HestiaCP.
