Exim configuration and troubleshooting

Hi,
I’m struggling quite a bit with Exim configuration, as I was accustomed with Postfix, much easier in my opinion.

After a fresh install of Hestia and WordPress, I tried to send an email notification from WP, but the message gets stuck in queue. Same with local mail sent to admin user that gets “frozen”.

I looked up in Hestia documentation, but there’s no tutorial about Exim, and in the forum there’s a lot of messages on this topic but no one that gives the full picture…

  1. First of all, which kind of setup (i.e. “Internet site”, “Smart host”, etc) is configured with a fresh Hestia installation?

  2. May I use dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config to reconfigure Exim?
