ls: cannot access ‘/srv/jail/Saad’: No such file or directory
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Jun 14 13:52 /srv/jail
root@panel:~#

Run this and try again:

v-add-user-sftp-jail Saad

Same error

root@panel:~# v-add-user-sftp-jail Saad
root@panel:~# ls -ld /srv/jail /srv/jail/Saad
ls: cannot access ‘/srv/jail/Saad’: No such file or directory
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Jun 14 13:52 /srv/jail
root@panel:~#

Show the output:

grep -A1 '^# Hestia SFTP Chroot$' /etc/ssh/sshd_config | grep '^Match User'
root@panel:~# grep -A1 ‘^# Hestia SFTP Chroot$’ /etc/ssh/sshd_config | grep ‘^Match User’

Check the log /var/log/hestia/nginx-error.log to know which is the exact error.

Anyone here?

Apologies for the late response

root@panel:~# cat /etc/ssh/sshd_config /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*

This is the sshd server system-wide configuration file. See

sshd_config(5) for more information.

This sshd was compiled with PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games

The strategy used for options in the default sshd_config shipped with

OpenSSH is to specify options with their default value where

possible, but leave them commented. Uncommented options override the

default value.

Include /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*.conf

For this to work you will also need host keys in /etc/ssh/ssh_known_hosts

#HostbasedAuthentication no

Change to yes if you don't trust ~/.ssh/known_hosts for

HostbasedAuthentication

#IgnoreUserKnownHosts no

Don't read the user's ~/.rhosts and ~/.shosts files

#IgnoreRhosts yes

To disable tunneled clear text passwords, change to no here!

PasswordAuthentication yes
#PermitEmptyPasswords no

Change to yes to enable challenge-response passwords (beware issues with

some PAM modules and threads)

GSSAPI options

#GSSAPIKeyExchange no

Set this to 'yes' to enable PAM authentication, account processing,

and session processing. If this is enabled, PAM authentication will

be allowed through the KbdInteractiveAuthentication and

PasswordAuthentication. Depending on your PAM configuration,

PAM authentication via KbdInteractiveAuthentication may bypass

the setting of "PermitRootLogin without-password".

If you just want the PAM account and session checks to run without

PAM authentication, then enable this but set PasswordAuthentication

and KbdInteractiveAuthentication to 'no'.

Execute this and try again:

v-delete-user-sftp-jail Saad
v-add-user-sftp-jail Saad

Check that chroot dir has been created:

ls -ld /srv/jail/Saad/home
root@panel:~# v-delete-user-sftp-jail Saad
v-add-user-sftp-jail Saad
root@panel:~# ls -ld /srv/jail/Saad/home
ls: cannot access '/srv/jail/Saad/home': No such file or directory
root@panel:~#

v-add-user-sftp-jail should create the dir, I don’t know what’s going on with that user.

I have some extremely important data, what to do?

Can you access using an external client like WinSCP, Filezilla…?

nope because i don’t know how to.
