No emails about version updates and backups

Hi there!

I noticed that emails about system updates and backups are not receiving to the admin’s mail. The appropriate ticks are enabled:

  • Send email notification when an update has been installed
  • Send update installation log by email

Otherwise, mail works fine - i can send email on the admin’s mail using RoundCube.
Where else should I look?


Check /var/log/exim4/mainlog for the emails send

Other option is to use:

And define an email address / smtp server

I tried the next - created a mail address [email protected] and mail started to come, BUT only about the manual backup. Scheduled backup task still no produces emails, and there are no any messages in the logs related to the mail sending, about rejected bots only.

Hi, and thanks for the suggestions. I tried the both way - your and described in the previous post. Both gave me the same results - emails were sent when i asked for password restore or created backup manually, but still no emails about autobackup. Autobackup done at 5:10, but there is no related message in the log files /var/log/exim4/mainlog, /var/log/exim4/rejectlog or /var/log/exim4/paniclog

Damn, I thought something else. My fault. Sorry for the wasted time.
It turns there are two ways:

  • create [email protected] or specify custom sender email in Configure -> White Label
  • configure SMTP using /usr/local/hestiacp/hestia/install/upgrade/manual/
