Restoring backup on new server failed

Heya HestiaCP support heroes,

I’m unable to restore my backup after transferring it via WinSCP to new server I’m getting the following errors after using the restore command.

[email protected]:~# /usr/local/hestia/bin/v-restore-user XXX XXX.tar
– USER –
2022-08-18 20:46:43 XXX

– WEB –
2022-08-18 20:46:45 XXX.com
pzstd: -: Restored data doesn’t match checksum.
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
Error: Can’t unpack XXX.com data tarball

I confirmed the file does indeed extract just fine on my Windows PC, so the file itself is not corrupted.

Any ideas? I really need to migrate this account/website to a new home.

How did you create the backup folder?

Didn’t manually create the folder, HestiaCP created the backup folder as there was already 2 backups from the 2 users I created.

Make sure both the backup as /backup/ has 777 permissions

Having the same issue. I can unpack the tar on the desktop, but v-restore-user gives the same error as above. Wondering whether it’s because this is a new install of Hestia and the back would have been created in a version from circa March 2021?

If all else fails, is there a way to patch a site back together from the unpacked tar? web / mysql / mail?

Cheers,

Pete
