Thanks - will give that modified template file a go Commenting out the lines as suggested above seemed to cause exim to fail when sending:

SMTP: Service not available: 451 Temporary local problem - please try later\n

So hopefully this other tweak fixes it (I’ve uncommented the changes I made before)

That seems to have sorted the problem for us - thanks (at least, no errors currently in the log file, and the script seems to run through to the end)
