Accidentally change all ownership (chown)

Guys, I’ve made a mistake for doing chown to /*
Is there any way to reset to default ownership?

Thank you in advance!

In my knowledge it is not possible without a reinstall. One similar issue: https://askubuntu.com/questions/19717/cant-access-any-functions-after-chown-command

However, maybe someone more experienced can suggest.

One more thread here: Script to fix home directory permissions (use at your own risk)

But tread very carefully with that please.

i dont think there is an easy way to solve that. I would take backups and restore the server.

I think this one solve the issue Can't login panel after update - #8 by kortex

but, I have no idea how this person managed to solve it based on the commands they made.

That is not what the issue is here for OP.

closed, I dont find any ways out and just restore the backup
