Backend Pool Mode: What is it?

While playing around with Hestia version 1.1.0 I noticed a setting called Backend Pool Mode, in Server > Configure Server > Web Server. I ran a search but it seems I can’t find any information about that.

Is there any reading material about that setting?

I believe it has to do with load balancing Nginx reverse proxy with multiple backends.
