Backup error: not enough diskspace available to perform the backup

I received an email “not enough diskspace available to perform the backup.”
df says:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev 449M 0 449M 0% /dev
tmpfs 99M 920K 98M 1% /run
/dev/sda2 50G 25G 22G 54% /
tmpfs 491M 0 491M 0% /dev/shm
tmpfs 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock
tmpfs 491M 0 491M 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs 99M 0 99M 0% /run/user/1003
tmpfs 99M 0 99M 0% /run/user/1002

I read a few previous Q/A about this issue but could not find a solution.
Could you please advise?
Thank you very much

Configure the backup folders so only the essential stuff is in the backup.

For the backup process, you will need the space of the account uncompressed and again the space of the compressed file.

If you already have a backup plugin in wordpress that creates a full backup of the wordpress, then it will be copied inside the backup file and then again compressed to a new file.

If you are compressing your cache files, take them out.

Spam folders, etc.

Thank you jlguerrero for the prompt answer.
I’ll do it :+1:
