Connection to hcp times out

Hi. I can’t access hcp

https://hcp.domain.com:8083 times out and so does phpMyAdmin but all the websites and mailboxes (including domain.com) work. It’s wotth noting that I don’t get the 404 page, I get a generic browser message “The connection has timed out. Check internet connection…”

It was all working a few days ago, I can’t think what might have changed.

I can SSH into the server using the admin account.

I’ve ran /usr/local/hestia/bin/v-add-letsencrypt-host

Any advice would be appreciated

Hi @apexit.uk

If your server is hcp.yournick, then port 8083 is not open, I would double check your TP-Link router’s conf because seems you are not forwarding port 8083 correctly.

Thanks for the response. How do you know I have a TP-Link router? Also, port 8083 is open on the NAT server.

Yes, now I see it open and can see the login page.

Do you have an open port 2531 that you should close because seems anyone could reboot your router, I didn’t try to reboot it so maybe it doesn’t work but you should check it.

Interesting, how do you know my router’s IP address? Only way to access the remote management is by using the IP address. Or, so I thought.

You said you access using hcp… and I saw your nick, too easy :stuck_out_tongue: And you are not using Cloudflare as proxy for hcp subdomain.

I have DNS records on Cloudflare but if I turn on the proxi, the panel will time out. Same with webmail. Is this something you can help with?

I’m new to all this (as you can probably tell), Im just trying to learn. I’m still unclear about how you found the IP address for the router =/

Cloudflare doesn’t allow proxying port 8083, if you want to use hcp subdomain with CF proxy, you must use a supported port like 2083.

To change the port in Hestia you can use this command:

 v-change-sys-port 2083

Note: if you change the port, remember to modify the forwarding rule in your router.

You should have no issues proxying webmail, remember to use Full Strict to connect from CF to your server.
