Consider Claude for OSS to accelerate HesitaCP development

came across an offer from Anthropic called “Claude for Open-Source Software” that provides generous API credits and support for qualifying open-source projects. Since HesitaCP is growing and we’re spending a lot of time on repetitive development tasks, this could meaningfully speed things up.

If the project qualifies, it could lower our development friction without adding financial cost, so I think it’s worth applying and evaluating.

Please NO. AI is nothing but making and taking things from others. Free you say. When did they give back to people who actually wrote that thing? When did they actually give back to users who spent hours testing and racking around.

If HCP goes to AI, I for one will leave the panel. Honestly. Please let whatever sane things (rare as they have become in volume) are there without AI, remain sane that way.

BTW, there is no alternative for human and how things in reality work.

I understand the concern, but I think there’s a misunderstanding about what’s being proposed.

No one is suggesting that AI replaces humans or real-world understanding. AI is a tool nothing more. it helps speed up certain parts of the workflow. The judgment, responsibility, architecture decisions and final accountability still sit with humans.

Providing Claude Max to core team members isn’t about replacing contributors or undervaluing anyone’s effort. It’s about reducing repetitive workload speeding up prototyping and helping us move faster on HCP

saying there’s “no alternative for humans” is exactly why AI works as an assistant. It’s not an alternative to humans. It’s leverage for humans.

If the goal is to keep HCP sane and high quality, the conversation should be about standards and oversight not fear of the tool itself.
