Controlpanel frequent logout

I recently migrated to a new cloud provider, so I was logged into Hestia on the old server, new server, and new secondary dns server all at once. I noticed that I was very frequently getting logged out of my sessions (often mere seconds went by before a session expired). It was annoying, but not so much that it stopped me from getting the migration done. I just assumed it was probably a bug relating to being logged into Hestia with multiple sessions on different servers in the same browser.

However, it’s still happening, now that I’m on the new server. I logged in, configured a setting (a minute or so), hit save, and was hit with the login screen.

Any ideas what’s happening?

Is your public ip changing? Hestia creates the cookie in combination with your public ip, if it changes, the cookie will come invalid.

Ooooh! I bet that’s it - I’m using safari and have hide ip address on…

I’ll see if turning that off when I’m using it helps.

Disabling this setting in safari seems to be working.

However, I don’t want to disable it permanently as it’s a nice protection. It’d be nice if Hestia could accommodate it, as a longer term solution.

You might check to see if you can disable that setting on a per site basis. You could also use a different browser for managing your HestiaCP.

I have not found any method for configuring per site settings in regards to this behavior, and I’ve looked quite a bit.

I could, but there are many reasons I prefer to use Safari. I am not using hestia frequently enough that I can’t handle toggling the setting, but I think longer term, it would be best to figure out how to address the issue so it’s not a problem in the first place. My 2¢, though.
