Hi,
Yesterday, I got 100% SSD usage on my server, and the culprit was that the folder
/usr/local/hestia/web/fm/private/tmp
contained too many files (~60 GB worth) named like 67122c0e360fd, each a different size from 33k to 260k
I have no clue of what happened. All the files are admin:admin
Does anyone know what could have happened? AND how to prevent this?
Logs for the file manger…
So they can be safely deleted.
Please create an bug report so we clear those log reports aswel
Hey, thanks for the quick reply!
I will create a bug report, …
But these didn’t just creep up in size, they were created like in a day. I checked earlier that week, and was all ok, 6x gb free, and then yesterday, 0. Free, with all the space taken up by those files.
And they didn’t look like log files, they were binaries. I still have some saved, but didn’t manage to analyze them, maybe they were zipped log files? Can I find out what account created them? Maybe there’s a bug in the FM?
Then it might be tmp files from uploads … It could be …
Only file manager uploads??
Can I check. Which site or account did that?
I don’t know if they are related issues.
I have a folder with 46k images in it (some of the saved tmp files were from this folder).
- it takes a few minutes to open the folder, but it doesn’t create any files in /usr/local/hestia/web/fm/private/tmp
- i can’t get it to open an image, but maybe, if someone was able to open one, and then the server started creating thumbnails for all 46k images and maybe somehow (like excessive refreshes), caused the server to use up all the free space?
