High disk usage

Hi all,

We installed HestiaCP for mail server in a proxmox LXC

Actually in HestiaCP says there are 152.55GB in total, but proxmox says that disk has 310.88GB ocupped.

There are not any backups in HestiaCP.

What can i do to free disk space?

Regards.

Don’t use LXC.
Install it on KVM.

There is a thin and thick provisioning. (back from my VMware days).
if you did thick provisioning you allocated all the virtual disk space regardless of if the VM is using it or not.
Thin provisioning would somewhat match with what you see in the OS vs on your host with the disk file.

What can you do to free disk space -
1 you can allocate the virtual disk as thin provisioning - that will save space in the host.
2 use “ncdu” in / of the file system to actually figure out what is taking the space within the OS.
