How do I install the Mail Server after installing hestia?
Six months ago I didn’t need a mail server and gave up on installing a mail server via the component generation script https://gabizz.github.io/hestiacp-scriptline-generator/ Should I install EXIM and DOVECOT? I plan to use mail only to send emails to one personal email address.

Installing email packages needs to be done right from the start (although technically possible to read the install script and follow it line by line its way too complicated for most people).
Your options are:

  • install a new hestia server WITH email, and then migrate the users over to it. Maybe one hour for install and one hour per user migration.
  • As you’re only sending email outbound to one person, consider using a mail relay, such as SendGrid which give you x thousand free emails a month.
