After trying different panels and setups, HestiaCP is still the one I enjoy coming back to. My favourite setup is HestiaCP Hybrid (Nginx + Apache) + PHP-FPM 8.3 + Redis.
The hybrid mode is probably what I love most. I can host WordPress, Laravel, normal PHP applications or even those premium PHP scripts that still depend on .htaccess, without fighting with compatibility.
What makes HestiaCP special to me, though, is its philosophy. No artificial user limits, no important features waiting behind another paywall, and no need to put everything inside Docker just to manage a normal web server. The GUI is simple, but when you really need more control, the v-* CLI tools are actually there and actually useful. I also really appreciate the Services page and the ability to edit configurations from the panel.
And of course, the community/forum is another big plus. Many times, somebody has already discussed exactly the strange little problem you are facing. ![]()
I don’t really have “cons” for HestiaCP — more like a small wish list:
- Better per-site PHP/PHP-FPM tuning directly from the GUI.
- Full and polished IPv6 support.
- Redis as an optional built-in service, including the Services page and simple/advanced configuration editing.
- And this one is purely personal: please give me an optional left-side navigation menu someday.

For me, HestiaCP represents what I like about open source: give me a good GUI, give me a powerful CLI, don’t lock useful things behind paywalls, and let me remain in control of my own server.
Thanks to the HestiaCP developers, contributors and forum community for keeping that spirit alive.
