I used the apt dist-upgrade -y command which caused my mariadb database to be updated and now something is wrong, how do I fix it?

phpmyadmin

mysqli::real_connect(): (HY000/1040): Too many connections

Already solved, my.conf was overwritten and indexed, stop the database and then delete my.conf and rebuild it again
