I woke up to the email:
Can’t connect to MySQL localhost
ERROR 2006 (HY000) at line 1: Server has gone away
Error: ERROR: Restart of dovecot failed.
Oct 09 03:34:50 vmi*****.contaboserver.netsystemd: Reload failed for Dovecot IMAP/POP3 email server.
Oct 09 03:34:49 *****.contaboserver.netsystemd: dovecot.service: Reload operation timed out. Killing reload process.
I haven’t even make any changes in my server for weeks now
Note: my websites are currently down.
Your server has issues you should contact your provider or go to a different provider…
If you are using Debian, yesterday they released new point versions (12.2 for bookworm and 11.8 for bullseye) and mariadb-server was updated so maybe your error message is because it, just check that it was a one-time error and that mysql is up and running.
Regarding dovecot, as far as I know it has not been updated recently so check you have enough space in your system and check dovecot and systemd logs to know what is going on.
