I thought it was not being installed if the server had less than 1.5GB RAM but now that block is gone from hst-install-debian.sh ?
It is still there
Hmm, both ClamAV and Spam Assassin were installed on my 1GB RAM server, but I wasn’t using default installation (I used flags like --clamav yes).
Would pausing the services after install have the same effect in keeping resource use to a minimum?
It should be --clamav no
You can stop it.
I personally do use antivirus nowhere. Be it desktop or server (AppArmor is an exception). I personally install AV only to servers which will be used by customers. I do not install AV to servers which will be used solely by me. As for anti-spam - I install Rspamd.
