Mail server rejecting Gmail messages

Hello everybody,

One of my Hestia Control Panel mail servers rejects test mails coming from one of my Gmail accounts. Gmail keeps retrying and sending me messages like this:

550 Rejected because 209.85.218.44 is in a black list at zen.spamhaus.org Error: excess volume; https://check.spamhaus.org/returnc/vol/130.61.4.45/
550 Rejected because 209.85.128.45 is in a black list at zen.spamhaus.org Error: excess volume; https://check.spamhaus.org/returnc/vol/130.61.4.44/
550 Rejected because 209.85.208.42 is in a black list at zen.spamhaus.org Error: excess volume; https://check.spamhaus.org/returnc/vol/130.61.4.44/

Following any of the links in this log loads a page which mentions something like this:

The problem doesn’t relate to your email set-up.

Why has my email not been delivered?

  • The problem is with the recipient’s email server configuration.
  • This is not due to an issue with your email set-up.
  • It is not because you are listed on one of our blocklists.

Yes, you are using an open resolver like 1.1.1.1 to resolve dns queries and spamhaus doesn’t allow it.

If you want to keep using that open resolver, follow this doc rejected-because-ip-is-in-black-list-at-zen-spamhaus-org-error-open-resolver
