Yes is possible so far I know nothing has been changed on Vesta vs MyVesta for backup
Create a new server with Hestia download backups to /backup and run the command v-restore-user username backup

Not a new server… same server… in-place upgrade.

ln -s /usr/local/vesta /usr/local/hestiabefore starting?
No won’t be possible,
NOTE: Hestia Control Panel must be installed on top of a fresh operating system installation to ensure proper functionality
There are many changes between both setups…
Including user permissions, chroot, and other security permissions…
