New add-ons and ideas

I think hestiacp’s progress is impressive, but it would be nice to add new plugins:

1- Softaculous: Integration with third-party auto-installer tools is essential. The native solution only installs, but Softaculous installs and maintains, among other things.

2- CSF: It is essential to be able to manage a firewall from the GUI.

3- WAF: Traffic mitigation and anti-DDoS tools are also essential. For example, Comfortable WAF and similar.

4- ClamAV o Antivirus: Protecting your files is very important, and ClamAV can be a great tool. It would be great to have a GUI, like the cPanel plugin. Other paid plugins like ImunifyAV should also offer this.

5- Wordpress manager: A high percentage of sites are running on WP, so building a WP admin would be a blast.

There’s some future planning for all of these points? The new version is amazing, but I don’t see any public roadmap or any option to push new features. The community wants to share ideas and new features.

Thank you for your great work.

I think WAF is the best solution.

We can manage the firewall from the GUI right now. What is missing?

I would default to 8g firewall installed via nginx. I would have it by default. In fact, I do… I put it with my install scripts.

The virus protection of ClamAV for emails is not good. And for files… well, there is not much. The thing is that there are not good open source antivirus signatures

I don’t need it since I already developed my maintenance scripts BUT I think it would be very useful.

To push new features, you sould use github.

Raise an issue for each new idea. Just look if any of this has been raised in the past. For instance I asked for number 4 some time ago.

The ideal is from all the ideas I put in, it is to look for and integrate all the free and open source points, so as not to lose the essence of the project.

Thank you for all the details.

In point 1, where is that? Do you mean whitelist and blacklist?

On point 4, I am going to vote on it from GG.

In point 3, I use DA, https://waf.comodo.com/ (Modsecurity) and it’s a fable.

Undoubtedly, the ideal thing is to add all of this linked to the opensources tool.
