Nginx + PHP-FPM without Apache?

Say, for a new server, we’re considering a setup like Nginx + PHP-FPM without Apache. Is that advisable for Drupal and Nextcloud?

Up until now, we’ve been running Nginx in front of Apache.

Thanks

Its fine

Another related question: were the Drupal and Nextcloud installation templates in HestiaCP designed to provide maximum security? I ask because I was warned about this, whereas a standard Apache-based Drupal installation, for instance, comes with .htaccess files.

Thanks.

If you’re used to using .htaccess and your applications rely heavily on .htaccess rules, keep using Nginx + Apache.

Can you do the same thing using only Nginx? Yes, absolutely, but you may have to modify Hestia’s templates for those applications.

For example, to get Nextcloud working with as few errors as possible, you’ll need to modify the current template. I use my own Nextcloud template for Nginx to solve this issue (I should make a PR to update it), but that said, test it on a test server before switching permanently to Nginx only, or simply keep using Nginx + Apache.
