Not updating hosts file?

I assume hCP is supposed to modify /etc/hosts? I’ve added multiple domains, DNS zones, and records via Hestia. The hosts file is unchanged.

System: Dedicated remote Ubuntu 20.04 server.

Why should hestia adjust the systems hosts file?

As it should be.

The hosts file is to have the local machine resolve DNS queries as indicated in the hosts file instead of performing a DNS query.

You only need to change that to access a server that has no valid DNS pointing at it.

Since your server doesn’t need to query example.com in a different IP than the declared in the public DNS servers, there is no need to change the hosts file.

Right. Okay. Late night ponderings.

I just can’t figure out what I’m missing with why I can’t get to my website.
