Hello,

Very good Panel indeed. But I still miss one big feature: a powerful file manager, which is able to:

  • isolate among user directory (same concept as chroot)
  • resume interrupted download/upload. Necessary for big files operation.
  • zip/unzip archive (zip, gzip)
  • do standard file/folder operation. (new, copy, rename, edit).

As far as I know from experience, VestaCP file manager is buggy. Perphaps HestiaCP may integrate another good PHP open source file manager? I don’t know just a thought.

We are already working on a better implementation of a filemanager. Currently, we planed this for release 1.1.0.

Will it be a standalone product or an adaptation of something for HestiaCP?

Please! Don’t!
rsync scp mc on linux or putty bitwise winscp on windows…
Do not turn a lightweight panel into “powerful” cpanel or ispmanager!

  • Powerful doesn’t mean bloated
  • File manager is more about a friendly UI that should only transfer scp or rsync command to shell.
  • It helps admin to work faster. It helps non-admin user to use the panel.

I used Tinyfilemanager in my VestaCP setup before. It was amazing. Very powerful editor, zip/unzip and file moves. I’ll be happy to see it in the Hestia as default.
