no it’s not. usually it is the easiest to let your OS handle memory and cache.
the kernel will free up cache as needed and otherwise is does not matter, if the memory is “free” or old page_cache is sitting there.
if this really bothers you, you could adjust some sysctl settings to apply more pressure on freeing up cache early, but usually you do not want that, as it is most likely not helping your performance.
in other words: there is no benefit of having 26GB memory being FREE vs 26GB memory being used as cache.
