The idea came to mind, so what I had came from numerous top picks from members, particularly those in the area of web hosting for linux control panel users When they choose to use a control panel, design is the choice they make. My ask is for the style of a design almost close to the current paid control panel and other free like webuzo, cpanel, directadmin, cyberpanel, froxlor, plesk, interworx
I hope that this feedback is not misunderstood. The request is not for a complete replica but a close enough approximation that users around the globe can enjoy the modern design, such as the materialize design which is most popular.
Since everyone has different opinions, people who provide hosting services like myself take the middle ground in terms of votes. Although I haven’t used hestiacp myself yet, I like its simple features.
Example below:
I concur, but have seen a lot of hosting user clients ask how does the model display from the panel. And from my hosting selling service, there are many that get even get out due to they are do not aware what the hosting panel looks like. So I believe, the style of the menu looks like webuzo, cpanel, directadmin, cyberpanel but easier and more pleasing to the eye.
A great starting point for the redesign could be choosing a free admin panel. Selecting a few open-source options that use technologies similar to those employed by Hestia would simplify the design revamp process.
What are the technologies used actually by hestia? In terms of CSS and JS.
This is actually good news, because alpine can be very easily added to any html template not made with react, vue or similar. And by not having any css, any template with bootstrap or tailwind can be used without much problem.
The adaptation process can be very straightforward imho
I completely dislike cPanel and I don’t like Plesk either.
I don’t mind the default theme of HestiaCP. It’s simple, it loads quickly, it has light/dark mode and it has high information density (this is a big plus).
I think the HestiaCP GUI can get better for some things, but I wouldn’t like a complete overhaul (and I especially don’t like Material style, it has too low information density).
