When restoring a backup, is the behavior to replace what’s already there, or to append to it?

For example, if I have two backups for the same user, 1 from a week ago and one from last night, what would would happen in the following scenarios?

    1. restore week ago, 2. restore last night
    1. restore last night, 2. restore week ago

I assume both scenarios would result in the same outcome, but I want to confirm before proceeding.

Additionally, I also assume restoration is append-only. Like, if I were to delete some emails in the time between the week ago and last night, those deleted emails would be restored in either of those scenarios since they existed in the week ago backup.

Is all of this correct?

No we don’t have support for append only…

Does that mean it’ll overwrite the entire contents of what it’s restoring?
