Switch to letsencrypt cert

When I setup a site, I copied its cert over from the old host. It works great. Now I’d like to switch it to letsencrypt.
Do I just select “Enable SSL for this domain” ?
will it then switch over to letsencrypt? when will it do it so I can verify?
will it leave a copy of the old cert somewhere?

and " use lets encrypt"-checkbox, yes.

as soon as you press save, it will take a few seconds.
