Ubuntu 26.04 Support

Guys, congratulations to everyone on the release of Ubuntu Server 26.04! We’ve lived to see this moment.

Looking at the changelog for the new Ubuntu, I couldn’t help but think of Debian 13. It feels like it came out so long ago that it’s become a piece of history — and yet there’s still no HestiaCP support for it.

The Debian 13 thread got closed due to inactivity — apparently everyone has just accepted it.

And on a serious note — is the project even alive? Closed threads and no updates for current distros look like the end credits of a movie.

This project is alive and doing great. Just due to several ongoing things, the main devs have been unable to work full time on it.
Hestia is not going away anywhere. It is here to stay.

The project in this state is almost dangerous to use now: let alone new features or new distro support, but 9 months without any kind of security patches for stuff exposed on the internet (in this AI era too) is a huge timeframe.
Is not going away, but in this state is not here to stay for sure (or stay as abandonware).
Might sound harsh but that the reality

I do not deny that. Point of the fact and the hard reality aside, with the help here, most stuff are resolved or avoided. A lot goes into a release, not just few MRs and PRs.
Time and money is not in abundance as well. :slightly_frowning_face:

Of course I do appreciate the efforts from the community, but I would expect important updates to be handled by the package manager. I do not want to have to rely on scripts from forums to keep my installation safe.

I really feel uneasy with the lack of updates and I agree with @unarchive. I will have to look for alternatives…

What does prosperity mean to you?
Because on this matter, our opinions clearly differ.

You didn’t answer the question. You immediately started defending yourself by going on the offensive.

What problems does the panel solve on Debian 13? Why do you need it so badly? Debian 12 LTS will be available until 2028. I think the developers will have fully adapted the panel to these operating systems by then. For now, we’re working with what we have.
Ubuntu is a pretty “dirty” distribution. It’s better to use Debian. Analyze the forum - there are quite a lot of flaws that need to be corrected.

And again nothing about prosperity, only criticism. Some people simply don’t know how to admit their mistakes.
