"Unable to connect on port 80"

New VPS. 1G ram, 1G swap space. After installing

bash hst-install.sh --named no --exim no --dovecot no --clamav no --spamassassin no

I was unable to “Unable to connect on port 80” on the browser

~$ cat /usr/local/hestia/conf/hestia.conf | grep VERSION

shows

VERSION=‘1.8.12’

Check your firewall. Maybe the vps provider has blocked this port. You need to open it.

The panel opens port 80 and 443 after installation

The default port is 8083, unless you defined a separate one. Also, HCP automatically opens the relevant ports during the installation.

Yes. I have defined a separate one.

Just to keep everyone updated, the problem happened when I installed Hestia on Debian 10. It’s OK when I installed it on Debian 12 instead

Many servers are running Debian 12 and there are no problems.

Contact your system administrator to solve your problem.

Debian 10 support will be dropped anyway with the next release, please stick to debian 12.
