Zstd backup / restore

The admin documentation has a good description of zstd, however I don’t see where it’s integrated with v-backup / v-restore. Is there a CLI flag &/or configuration setting to make zstd the default?

Should be already by default since it was released …

For import it doesn’t matter during the backup process a file is created in the backup it self that is used to verify it is an zstd backup or not…

Thank you - I was expecting the file extension to change from .tar to .tar.zst

No we only compress the folders from the user as zstd instead of gzip.

The final tar “backup” just make sure that it is in 1 file instead everything separate…
