Are you running Apache? phpfpm?
Are you using wordpress?
Email config is fairly complex. Most of us configure a ‘smtp relay’ I believe. At least, I have.
My mail is quite reliable. I use smtp2go. I think that I’m limited to 1000 emails a month. I don’t send email to customers using this method, just to myself.
How fast do you sites load?

I recommend nginx and phpfpm, but you’ll want to talk to people more senior than I am. I’m not a full php developer (like I used to be).
I absolutely LOVE this platform though, I started using VestaCP about a decade ago, I don’t know the EXACT date.
