Read This First: Important Notes for Running HestiaCP Safely

HestiaCP makes managing a server easier — but it doesn’t make it safe by itself.
If you’re running a public server, you need to understand the basics of system administration.

That means knowing how to:

  • Keep your system updated and patched

  • Manage firewalls, users, and permissions

  • Monitor logs and performance

  • Maintain backups

If you skip these things, your server will get attacked — usually within minutes. Compromised systems are often used for spam, botnets, or other abuse, and that affects not just you but everyone else too.

The forum can help you with specific issues, but it’s not here to teach Linux or fix broken setups caused by inexperience. If you’re new to server management, use a managed host first — it’s far safer than trying to learn while online.

Running a server means taking responsibility for it.
HestiaCP gives you the tools — you provide the knowledge.

We want to focus on Hestia related topics only and I am sure there are enough other places to go for more unrelated things
